Since
last winter, I have been making plans to travel to Glasgow (GLAZ-go), Scotland from my home city of Jacksonville. It all started when I
picked up a brochure at college. It read, "Experience
International Business Without Language Barriers”. Study at a large
college in Scotland. Sure, I was interested, but I'm just an average
guy.
Now,
I'm set up to be the first exchange student from Jacksonville
University to travel to the City of Glasgow College in Scotland. It's
been a crazy ride. I've worked with professors and deans, and gotten
like a hundred signatures. I've gotten to hear British, Irish and
Scottish accents (Scottish is definitely the hardest to understand
for me, go figure), and met just about everyone in Financial Aid.
I've even got to meet three people from the college, including the
president of COGC, Paul Little.
I
still have a lot of odds and ends to sort through (you can't imagine
how much paperwork it takes to get a student visa). Yet, somehow,
everything is coming together. In less than a month, Lord willing,
I'll be stepping into foreign country for the first time in my life.
That's still crazy to think about.
So join me on my adventure! Watch for the hashtag #JUtoCOGC and come back and enjoy my blog whenever you want!
